About Us
Discover the Future of Synthetic Securitisation Intelligence
RTRA Intelligence Ltd focusses exclusively on the coverage of synthetic securitisations, otherwise known as significant risk transfer transactions (SRT). Synthetic securitisations are a structured finance product and capital relief instrument that allow banks to hedge credit risk and manage capital.
Beginning in 2016, the market has been growing at impressive rates. According to a June 2023 survey from the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers (IACPM), SRTs have gone from peripheral to ‘’mainstream’’. The research notes that between 2016-2022, banks executed more than 400 transactions on close to €800bn of underlying loans and placed tranche notional issuance witnessed a nearly fourfold increase.
However, despite their growth and significance to the global financial system, synthetic securitisations are arguably one of the most private markets in the world and perhaps the most private one. RTRA Intelligence Ltd was created with the exclusive purpose of bringing transparency and competitive intelligence to the market through accurate, reliable, consistent, and dedicated reporting. It is the only financial publication in the world with an exclusive focus on the coverage of SRTs.
Our Approach
RTRA Intelligence Ltd utilizes a holistic and analytical approach to news and Intelligence on synthetic securitisations. Analysis of external and market forces reveals risks and opportunities which in turn influence competitive behaviour and strategic decisions. The latter is crucial to RTRA’s coverage along with vital and more specific competitor information such as transaction news.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that coverage is strictly limited to the confines of the synthetic securitisation market. Synthetic securitisations for instance are one tool that banks use to manage capital and risk. Consequently, seeing how it stacks against alternatives and monitoring the conditions that could tilt the balance in favour or against synthetic risk transfer is important and would demand awareness of broader developments in the banking industry.
Overall, our goal is to offer the SRT market both breadth and depth and in a manner that’s actionable.
